Company Story
Waypoint was built on the passion and leadership of Josh, Pilot and Founder. A coach at heart, Josh thrives on helping people build skills and solve problems with confidence. As an executive leader, father, hunter, and aviation professional, he understands both the tactical and human sides of every mission. His respect for people, nature, and animals guides the company’s approach — ensuring every flight is carried out with purpose and integrity.
Beyond the skies, Josh brings years of experience as a leader and coach, helping others build skills, grow in confidence, and overcome challenges. That same passion for teaching carries directly into Waypoint’s training programs, which support both law enforcement and civilians. Through our affiliate partnership with Pilot Institute, we also help aspiring pilots prepare for their FAA Part 107 certification — giving them the knowledge and resources to succeed in the growing drone industry.

Who We Help
Our mission is to support hunters, landowners, and first responders with professional drone services and training that deliver accuracy, efficiency, and dependable results every time. We help with thermal carcass recovery for hunters, search and rescue for missing persons or escaped livestock, and law enforcement support for operations, monitoring, and training. We also provide herd census to help landowners maintain optimal deer populations, balance buck-to-doe ratios, and improve herd health. In addition, Waypoint Drone Services offers hands-on drone training for law enforcement and civilians, along with Part 107 prep through our affiliate partnership with Pilot Institute — giving new pilots a proven path to certification.
OUR COVERAGE AREA
Waypoint Drone Services covers a 150 mile radius from Ravenna, Ohio, with a max drive of 3 hours. Waypoint Drone Services is growing, and part of that growth includes expanding our network of skilled pilots into new regions. We’re actively building connections in other states, with Pennsylvania being one of our next key areas of focus. By growing our pilot network, we’ll be able to respond faster, cover more ground, and bring our specialized drone services to more hunters and landowners who need them.
